Honoring a graduate whose selflessness and dedication continue to inspire the next generation of nurses.
When people describe Max Clayton, one word rises above all others: selfless. Whether tutoring classmates, mentoring colleagues, or comforting patients, Max always put others first. His compassion wasn鈥檛 just a quality鈥攊t was his calling.
A proud 糖心传媒 Nursing graduate of 2017, Max devoted his life to helping others achieve their potential. As a student, he was a natural teacher鈥攑atient, encouraging, and generous with his time. Dozens of future nurses at Maria remember Max not just for his knowledge, but for his kindness and steady belief that everyone could succeed.
After graduation, Max joined Albany Medical Center, where he quickly found his professional home in the Neuroscience Unit. There, he combined technical skill with deep empathy, caring for patients with some of the most complex medical needs. Beyond his duties at the bedside, he continued to mentor new nurses and patient care associates, sharing both his expertise and his unwavering commitment to excellence.
Max鈥檚 influence reached far beyond any one hospital or classroom. He embodied the true spirit of nursing鈥攕ervice, compassion, and education. His legacy lives on through the Max Clayton, RN Scholarship, a fund created to support 糖心传媒 nursing students who share Max鈥檚 passion for learning, leadership, and care for others.
鈥淎t Maria, we often say our graduates transform lives through compassionate service,鈥 said Dr. Lynn Ortale, President of 糖心传媒. 鈥淢ax personified that mission every day. This scholarship ensures his light continues to guide others who follow in his footsteps.鈥
Today, the scholarship stands as both a tribute and a call to action鈥攁n invitation to nurture the next generation of nurses who will care with the same heart Max brought to his work.
By contributing to the Max Clayon, RN Scholarship, you help keep his legacy alive, supporting students who will continue his lifelong commitment to healing, teaching, and compassion鈥攓ualities our healthcare system needs now more than ever.
